Our customers love the ability to customise our catalogue designs to their personal size, style, colour, and fabric preference. And we do everything it takes to make this experience a delight. Most of the times the customised garment comes out perfect, but sometimes you may have measured yourself wrong or may not like the style customisation you chose. If that were to happen, we back you all the way with suggestions and alterations, governed by this policy.
The below Alterations, Returns and Exchanges Policy applies to all items sold from our global estore at www.talkingthreads.in and our flagship retail store in Mehrauli, Delhi.
1. For products that are made to non-standard sizes, colours or changes in the garment at the behest of the client, we do not offer returns or exchanges, but provide with free alterations subject to the constraints of the fabric and design, up to two times. Please notify us within 3 (three) days of the receipt of your order via email on support@talkingthreads.in regarding your alterations request. We will send you an email confirmation, post which, you need to ship the unused product to us (at the shipping address mentioned below) in its original packaging along with the invoice and all labels/ trimmings intact.
2. To avail of these alterations, you need to ship us the garment, at your cost, and we will alter it free of charge and ship it back to you. As all products are sold on a DDU basis, any duties arising from this transaction are solely the burden of the client. Further, at the discretion of the company, we may choose of offer alteration credit, as a one-time payment for making changes locally at a location convenient to the client.
3. For non-customized products in standard sizes and colours, please notify us within 3 days of receipt of order via email on support@talkingthreads.in regarding your return request. The buyer will need to ship the garment back to us in an unused condition in its original packaging, via a reputed traceable package. As all products are sold on a DDU basis, any duties arising from this transaction are solely the burden of the client. Further the company will charge a re-stocking fees of 20% of the value of the order. Upon inspection of the product and satisfying the conditions of the return, the client will be refunded the balance amount by the same means of payment.
4. The return shipping cost and any duties/ taxes arising on the return shipment (when it is processed by Indian customs) are to be borne by the customer. Talking Threads provides free alteration and ships back the altered garment to the customer at no extra charge.
4. All return shipments must be sent by the customer via a trackable courier service like FEDEX, DHL or UPS. We do not accept return shipments via ordinary post or postage service that do not provide online tracking to doorstep.
5. Our garments pass through intensive artisanal production techniques and multiple layers of quality checks and controls. We spare no effort in ensuring the highest quality standards to ensure defect free garments reach you. Please note that artisanal variations in the handwoven fabrics and handcrafted embroideries are not defects, but inherent characteristics of artisanal work and contribute to the artisanal beauty of the product.

For ready to ship non tailored ( non stitched garments ( excluding custom made orders or pre-orders) i.e. sarees ( without tailored blouse), shawls, stoles and dupattas, we offer you an exchange or a store credit (with 3 month validity) without any deduction. In case you want a money refund and not store credit, we will refund the money to your credit card/ PayPal account or bank account after deducting a restocking fee of 6% to cover us for payment and order processing charges. The amount will be credit in customer bank or orignial payment source within 7-10 working days. Refund or Store credit is offered in the currency of purchase ( the currency in which you paid us). For sarees, where blouse is tailored, we cannot offer a return on the saree. Please note that only sarees without stitched blouses, shawls, dupattas and stoles are eligible for exchange or return excluding pre-order and custom made sarees, shawls, dupattas and stoles.
For Bespoke, Custom Made Orders and Pre-Orders, we don’t offer cancellation, return or refunds. Custom made orders, are orders where customisation has been done to customer’s specific requirements. Custom made orders include the bespoke and pre-order products in our catalogue.

RETURN CONDITIONS
- Purchases must be returned from the original shipping country.
- Items returned must be in their unused original condition with all Talking Threads item tags attached and any related accessories included.
- Incomplete, damaged, worn, soiled or altered returns, or anything Talking Threads reasonably believes has been used, will not be accepted and therefore sent back to the customer.
