A well-known educationist and a womens rights activist, Maharani Suniti Devi of Coonch Behar, can be best described as an amalgamation of a stately aristocrat and a humane persona. Fond of regal looks replete with soft ruffles and laces, her sartorial choices were a complete opposite of her personality. Truly a royal with a heart of gold.
A classic well-defined silhouette is what makes this outfit so suited to the stately look of a modern queen. Delicately patterned with a motif inspired by the soft arch of a tiara, and with delicate sheer sleeves, this ensemble is an interpretation of a strong personality with a regal aura yet blessed with an innocently feminine charm.
The kurta with its Navy Blue base is enhanced with self- textured golden benaresi brocade weave- reflecting an ethereal shade of luxury- perfect for your life's golden hours. The intricate hand embroidery adorns the yoke hem, kurta hem, and sleeve hem with Swarovski, sequin, and cut beads. The bell sleeve has a tulle flared panel, adding to the overall royal aesthetic. When traditional textures meet a modern silhouette, it gives you a truly special gift, and that is what our Royal kurta set is!
In standard specs the kurta is 40 inches long, sleeves are 25 inches long. The Brocade kurta is underlined with cotton shantoon. The kurta has been paired with a pure silk fuchsia sharara lined with cotton shantoon and an organza dupatta. The sharara has a side seam concealed zipper and offers front fitted, back elasticated fit.

Editors Note: While Indian history has been studded with brave patriarchal tales of warriors and kings, the beauty and intellect of its queens has not quite received its due. Shattering the stereotypes, the modern queens of India have been a beacon for the women of today. Sophisticated, beautiful, and well-travelled, they have redefined the tales of royalty for generations to come. This collection gracefully captures the essence of a modern queen and an apt canvas to do this is the famed Benares brocade. The opulence of Indian brocades has fascinated the world for centuries, so much that at one time they were considered only fit for royalty. Reminiscing the rich and unparalleled legacy of this fabric, this collection is an effort to enliven days of the royal past interspersed with the charm of these fabulously ethereal and strong women, reimagining these looks for the woman of today. Each piece in this collection carries opulent hand embroideries decorating choicest rich handwoven silk brocades.
